Melissa Akers, MPH, CPH is a Program Coordinator for the Center for Vulnerable Populations (CVP) in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. She currently coordinates two programs with Dr. Hilary Seligman: EatSF and CDC's Nutrition and Obesity Policy Research and Evaluation Network (NOPREN). Her prior work has primarily focused on adolescent health and working with vulnerable youth populations. She previously implemented HIV/STD and substance abuse programs in school-based health centers and coordinated health services for homeless youth. Melissa holds a BA in Sociology from UC Santa Barbara and obtained her MPH from UC Davis.
